I'm Having trouble with the plastic catch. where does the
the plastic arm attach to create tension. mine just floats around and the button has no function.

If memory serves, you don't have to do anything special to install the plastic arm. See our instruction guide for this handle where we show how you install this hardware. Hopefully that helps.
