The windows will not stay up. We are looking for the channel balance (I think).

Hello, thank you for posting,

It appears that your windows use non-tilt channel balances. To further review, are you able to provide clearer images of the top and bottom nylon attachments on the metal channel along with the number stamped on the channel? From there we can get a clearer idea of the series the window uses. 

It also appears you may need a new top sash guide on the one side. We will need to see the sash removed where we can see a face view of the guide on the other side.
