Why is this loose in a 5/16 frame?

My first guess is that it's not the right part for the job. There are a ton of corners made for 5/16" frames, but they all have a different design and are all totally incompatible. Seeing a photo of your original corner side-by-side with the 95-263 that you purchased would give me a better idea of what you have and whether we have anything that can replace it.
