What does "the holes are tapped for 10-24" mean?

A quick learner from Missouri says:

What does "the holes are tapped for 10-24" mean? I assume that the "fasteners" referred to in the product description are two screws that are used to go through one pull and through the stall door and then into the second pull on the other side of the door to securely attach the door pulls? Is this correct? Is there a standard measurement for the screw? It doesn't say how long the fasteners are

Hi there!  Sorry for the confusion, but hopefully I can clear things up. "10-24" indicates the thread count of the screws you'd use to install these handles to the door. As for what length screw you need, that's harder to answer. That depends more on your door than the handle itself. There is no standard size. We usually recommend using the screw you had before. If you're missing some, you can take one of the old screws in to a local hardware store to have them match it up.
