ALSIDE MODEL 0601 VINYL WINDOW

A home owner from OH says:
WINDOW HAS A BROKEN PIVOT SHOE. THERE ARE NO CUT OUTS FOR SHOE REMOVAL. WINDOW IS 20-25 YEARS OLD. IT APPEARS PART 15-178 OR 15-188 MAY BE A FIT. FOR REMOVAL OF THE BROKEN SHOE DO YOU SUGGEST MAKING A CUT OUT OR USING JAMB SPREADER? WHILE USING YOUR JAMB SPREADER TOOL WOULD BE EASIER, I'M CONCERNED THE WINDOW FRAME COULD CRACK/BREAK DUE TO ITS AGE. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.

Hello!

Thank you for reaching out to us. I agree that either the 15-188 or 15-178 appear to be what you have. The best match will ultimately come down to the thickness. As for the removal method, we recommend making a cut-out in the window track as shown in the video below.
