Add keyock

A home owner from Florida says:
Hi,

I am looking for a way to make this sliding door lock keyed on the exterior, ideally with a Schlage cylinder that I can re-key to match all the other locks on my house. Can you recommend parts?

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for posting. I am afraid it might be difficult to adapt a certain key cylinder in this case. This is an Andersen door, and Andersen is rather particular about the hardware that is compatible with their doors. In this case, the compatible key lock adaptation is our 82-316 and 82-317. Handing determined by outside looking in by which panels is operating. Let me know what you think.

A home owner from Florida says:
Thank you for the quick response. If I am outside looking in and the keeper is on the left (door slides to the right to enter), is that a LH lock, p/n 82-316?

Bob from SWISCO responded:

Correct. If from the outside, the operating panel (or rather, the panel that moves) goes from left to right, then you need the left-handed lock, the 82-316. Let me know if you have further questions.
