Alcan sliding glass doors need wheel replacement 1-5/8"

A home owner from St. Petersburg, FL says:
Hi,

We have three-part Alcan sliding glass doors, super-heavy. Handyman measured the wheels at 1-5/8". I'd like to order six replacements; also need six new screws to hold them in place. Don't know the make or model on the door, only that there is a black plastic Alcan logo on the top side edge of the middle one.

Doors were installed in 1996 and one wheel (and or its bearings) seems to break every year or so.

Handyman asks, if possible, to include installation instructions with parts.

Can you help?

Hey, Bob. Many Alcan aluminum patio doors used the 81-133 roller, but there's no guarantee that this is what you have. The only way to be 100% sure is to remove your existing roller and compare it to our information. I'm also not sure what size screw they used for door frame. When your handyman takes the frame apart, he can take the screw to the nearest hardware store for replacement. For removal instructions, see the video below.
A quick learner from Tampa, FL says:
I believe have this same door. I used a Barton|Kramer 477 from Home Depot for the rollers. More of a pain than I thought it would be to replace since you have to take the bottom of the window frame off. Thank god for YouTube on that!

What I need though is that black cap shown in the bottom picture. I'm missing one and it makes the door really a sloppy fit without it. I tried searching for "sash guide" but I'm not sure that is the correct term. No markings on the piece other than the Alcan logo...but that is the way the rollers were too....no part number on those either. If you sell it, I'm buying!

That cap appears to be a guide of some kind for the glass door, though it's not like any guide we carry. We sell a couple different styles that may work for you regardless, though. You can see our complete selection here. I don't think you'll be able to get away without drilling new holes, and even then I'm not certain anything we have can work, but these parts are at least worth considering in my opinion. If you're handy, you may be able to get some to work.
