Alcoa Windows 1995

Home Owner from Cincinnati, Ohio
I have several Alcoa windows that I would like to repair and replace the weatherstripping. All of them are Alcoa, but they are different sizes. I want your help figuring out what I need to repair the windows. The main problems are that the balances are broken or jammed, and we cannot open windows or keep them open. We also have several latches that need to be replaced. I'm fairly handy and am a quick learner.

Thanks for reaching out to us. If I understand correctly, you're looking for new weatherstripping, tilt latches, and balances?

Let's start with the latches and balances, since those are easiest. My top recommendation for the tilt latch is the 26-243 and 26-244, but make sure to review our dimensions to ensure that they match up. For the balance, since this is a tilt window you only have two options: the 9/16" diameter Series 600 or 3/8" diameter Series 900. Eyeballing your original it's probably 9/16", so the Series 600 is my top pick. Make sure to measure the outer white tube to verify.

I can't ID the wool pile without knowing its size. For now, you can browse our entire selection here. We have detailed dimensions listed for each product that you can use as a reference. All you have to do is remove a sample that's as whole as possible, measure it, and check for a good match.
