Alpine window Sash Balance & cam

A quick learner from Sequim WA says:
I have a Alpine single hung window about, older around 1990.
Need to replace both of the sash balance and the balance cam.

The Balance is stamped with 26 9. 34# DL Caldwell
Width = .5in

The plastic parts at the bottom and top of the Balance have fins, overall width = 7/8in.

The Cam ( what is left of it) looks like 9/16in height.

I was not able to upload pics

I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time uploading photos to us. We will need to see photos of the balances you're describing to us. You can email your photos directly to help@swisco.com and we will manually upload them for you. Just be sure to include your reference number, D139197. Thank you.

Thank you! Your balance looks like it will be either our S385-27 or S380-27 depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. That's the only difference between them. We have detailed dimensions on each product's store page that you can use as a reference to confirm the better match.

You may also need to weigh your sash to confirm the best option. A stamp ending in "-9" uses an outdated rating system.

As for the top sash guide, I'm not 100% sure what this is. Can you show me a photo of its front?

Thanks for the additional photos. Now, you will measure the depth of your bottom balance shoe like in the diagram below to determine whether the Series 380 or Series 385 channel balance would work best as a replacement.

For your top sash guide, see if our 18-008 is compatible. Look over the measurements to confirm whether or not this will work for you.

Looks like 1 3/32. Thanks

Thank you. Based on the weight of your sash, it looks like you can go with the 2640 option. Take a look at the sash weight chart below that is also listed on the product page to confirm this is the stamping you need.

Stamp Option Sash Weight Range

2610 5 to 9 lbs

2620 9 to 13 lbs

2630 13 to 19 lbs

2640 19 to 26 lbs

2650 26 to 30 lbs

2660 30 to 33 lbs

2665 33 to 36 lbs

2670 36 to 39 lbs

Great! In that case, we recommend our S385-27 with a 2640 stamp option. If you look on the S385-27 store page, you'll see that this option can support 19 through 26 pounds. This should be perfect for your sash.
