Alside 1700 windows

Home Owner from Chattanooga, TN
I'm sorry I don't know the terminology, but I'm looking for these parts near the bottom of the picture that are the sockets that the pins from the window fit into. I have several broken, and need to replace.

Also, if you could help me to figure out how to remove them to replace.

Thanks.

Hello, thank you for posting!

The part you are referring to is a balance T-lock pivot shoe. The one in your pictures, resembles the 15-195B that is 1-1/4" wide and has an open (see through) metal cam style. These shoes can be easily switched out, if only this part is broken. Please review the video below.

To remove the balance, you would need to take a flathead screw driver and rotate to unlock the metal cam in the shoe, from there slowly guide the balance upwards towards the pulley string. Once the string is fully retracted, unscrew or unhook the balance from the window. Then tilt the metal channel out of the window inward until at a 90 degree angle and twist to release the shoe out.
