Hello,

We'd be happy to help but, unforutnately, I can't be sure of the correct replacement without seeing the original balance uninstalled since there are many variations. We'll need to see both ends of your assembly and any number stamped on the balance to narrow down your replacement options. Thank you!

photo 3 is bottom of window that goes into shoe slot.
other two photos show the bottom of the torsion spring inserted in the sliding shoe
I could not find any numbers on the shoe. the spring did not have a color band on it. window is very heavy probably 40 lbs.

Thanks for getting back to us. I can't be sure but you could start by comparing the Series 600 spiral balance to yours depending on if the 5/8" tube diameter matches yours. You'll also need to measure the length of the housing tube to choose the correct replacement.

How to measure the tube length of the S600 spiral balance.

As for your sash weight. 40 pounds is quite heavy for a spiral balance. If there are no stamp codes or colored tip on the balance, I would strongly encourage you to confirm the exact weight of the sash to compare to the strength chart under the balance product description. That will ensure that the balances are calibrated properly.

As for the pivot shoe, we would need to see yours removed from the window, as well as have you write out the exact width and thickness to compare to our inventory.
