Aluminum Spline for Andersen Screen

Quick Learner from So. Hamilton, MA

I am replacing my screen in a andersen sider. When I removed the spline it was made of alum. and it measures 1/4" x 3/16' Is there such a product available on the market? Or do you recommend just using 1/4" foam? I would think alum. would be a challenge to install.

Hey there, I think I can help you. When we were doing Andersen screen repairs back in the day, we always replaced the metal spline with the foam type. It just made it easier to repair.

You say yours was 1/4" diameter, which would be the 59-250. However take note that this spline was for the older 1" wide screen frame. If this is a newer window, you might have the new style 3/4" wide screen frame, which needs to take the 59-270, instead.

Take a look at both sizes to determine which size is best for your application.
