Hello,
I have 2 aluminum single hung windows. One works and one doesn't. When I open the non-working window from the bottom to the top, the window does not stay open and wants to fall down. The other working window stays up just fine. The only difference I see between the 2 windows are the working window has a piece of string connected to a hook that seems to be holding the window up.
I've attached some pictures of the working window with the string mechanism on the right side of window channel. This seems to be what's missing on the non-working window.

Hello,
Thanks for posting! I'm sorry to say we would not be able to provide you with a replacement for the balances you have. It appears that may be some type of cord balance or an overhead balance. Unfortunately, the replacement balances we have would not work as a suitable replacement alternative for what you have.
Our sincerest apologies that we cannot provide you with a replacement recommendation for your repairs.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any other questions.
