Andersen 4000 storm door screen replacement

Question

I am trying to replace the full door screen in my Andersen 4000 series storm door with pet safe screening, which is thicker than what it came with for screening. I am trying to find spline that will work. Photo is of original spline which is now too thick to fit back in (or maybe it is not re-usable) with the pet screening.

Thanks for reaching out to us. It looks like your screen frame may use the 55-109 screen spline. With your type of screen frame and spline, you cannot use the Pet Screen because of the thickness of the screen cloth. You will need to use regular screen cloth with a lighter gauge. I suggest seeing if you can install a protective "grill" on the storm door to protect the screen as well.
