Andersen Key Lock

Quick Learner from San Mateo,CA
We have the Andersen sliding door (late 90s era) with the handle and deadbolt shown in the photos. The darker image is outside looking in, brighter image is inside looking out. Interested in installing a locking key lock that can be un-locked / locked from the outside. Would the LH 82-316 lock work in this application? If not the 82-316 model - any other suggestions to install a key lock on the outside?

Thank you for reaching out to us. The 82-316 keyed lock is designed for left-hand operating panels when viewed from the outside looking in. However, the one in your photo looks like it's for the right-hand side. Can you confirm this? If this is the case, we would recommend the 82-317 which should be fully compatible with your existing hardware.

We have an Anderson sliding door. I am looking for an Anderson or other manufacturer hardware that is a replacement for the existing inside door lock, or an additional lock that allows the door to be locked - and unlocked using a key from the outside. On the inside it could use a non key lock handle, or it could also require a key on the inside.

It sounds like you may be referring to the same door that you posted about back in February, which is shown at the top of this thread. If so, see the response from Emily regarding the handing of the 82-316 and 82-317 Tribeca key locks. Thank you!
