Andersen Picture Window Wxstripping

Hi. I have an old Andersen picture window (43"h x 68"w) with "CIG-1 2-90" etched into the lower left corner. The bottom length of weatherstripping has come loose, so might as well replace all four pieces, right? The height of the "face" of the wxstripping is 3/4". The part that goes into the channel of the window is 1/4". Do you carry this kind of product?

Thanks for getting back to us. I agree that your weatherstripping is similar to the 55-306 but the dimensions differ slightly from the measurements you provided. Review the image below to confirm if this could work for your repair.

Hi, Casey. Happy Friday. Thanks for the zippity response! Yeah, I wouldn't put much faith in the precision of my measurements. I didn't realize how granular they needed to be (ie, to the 32nds of an inch!) but I will remeasure when I get home later. However, I bet they'll be pretty close to what your drawing shows; I mean, if it's not the 55-306, what else could it be?

SO, assuming that I DO need 55-306, how are these ordered? Do you differentiate between rails and stiles or are they the same? Do the pieces come in different lengths?

The 55-306 would be our best match but the dimensions would ultimately be the determining factor. Note that this glazing bead is only available in precut lengths of 68-9/16". As long as all of the sides use the same seal and the dimensions match, you should be good to go. Hi, Casey. I confirmed that my existing glazing does, in fact, match up with the measurements you provided so I'm pretty confident we've got the right stuff. One more question: do you recommend any kind of adhesive to assure a tight and lasting fit? Or is friction of the tines in the channel sufficient?

We do not generally recommend using adhesive, which would make the glazing difficult to replace down the line. As long as the dimensions match, the kerf will keep the glazing in place when installed.
