Andersen Sash Balance

I have Andersen 200 Series Narroline windows. Each sash is 36W x ~24H. Is there a standard balance that can be ordered so I don't have to take it apart to find the balance number, then order and have to await the parts before I get the window back together?

Thanks for your question. I am afraid there is not a standard Andersen sash balance that can be purchased to fit any Andersen window. Each balance has a unique stamp number which informs us which balance can be used in place of the existing one. We will need to know that stamped number in order to determine which balance will work. You will notice two sets of numbers on your part. We will need the second set of numbers that are adjacent to the first set that begin with "11600".

Thanks for saying I needed to look for "11600". I would never have found it. The number after 11600 is -17. Also stamped on the part is BD28 823 10-88.
Can you recommend a replacement part for me?

I submitted a post about 15 minutes ago based on the one sash balance that I removed. I'll repeat it here - stamped on the face is 11600-17 and BD 823 10-88. I removed the other sash balance and it is also 11600-17, but there are no other stamps on this face (except for Anderson Corp Bayport Minn). But there are numbers on the flange where it was stapled to the frame. Unfortunately the holes created by the staple make the number difficult to read. It is "823" then a few spaces, then "1", then the hole, then "8, then the other smaller hole, then "14", space, 8, space, 89. Since the house was built in 1990, I suspect the last numbers are the date the balances were manufactured (Oct 1988 and Aug 1989).
Anyway, still looking to identify a replacement part. Thanks.

Excellent! The "823" number is key. Any balance marked "823" can be replaced with the 24-837 Andersen replacement balance. Are there any balances besides the "823" balances?

No, there are no other balances that need replacement at this time. I'll be ordering the 24-837 balances. Thanks.
