Andersen Sash Balancer

A home owner from Brewster says:
I replaced my sash balancer from a number 11600-17 I could make out on the balancer with a 24-531. It fit but the lower unit will not hold in the open position. After removal of the old balancer I can now make out other numbers which are:
BD7 7/27 985 Did I get the correct replacement part??

Looking at your second set of numbers, I find our 24-737 would make the better replacement for you.
A home owner from Brewster says:
Is the 24-531 for a smaller window. I have the same need for a smaller window in my bathroom and hope the 24-531 will match up. I haven't exposed the balancer so I don't have the number yet. If I do order the 24-737 you believe it will provide the lift for my current window? Thanks for your help. Carl

Paul from SWISCO responded:
For your stamped number "BD7 7/27 985" our 24-737 sash balance will be fine. The smaller window may use the 24-531 sash balance you already have.
