Andersen balance broke

Question

I purchased 2 new 24-16R balance systems for an Andersen slim-line window and 1 broke during installation. Below are pictures of the original balance.

For your balance with a "1031" stamping, go with our 24-1033. The 24-16R you mention is more for a cottage window where the top and bottom sashes are different heights.
