I am looking for a crank to replace this one that will fold to accommodate window shades.

Hello,

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see a photo of your operator with the window open so that the arms that move the sash are fully visible. That will allow us to determine which handles are compatible with your operator. Thank you!

Take a look at our 39-095 Andersen operator, which is the newer style, and see if you can adapt the operator and the track that comes with it to your window. You will also need the 39-286 handle.

Can I replace the crank with the 39-301 and not have to replace the operator?

You will need to remove your existing handle from the operator to see if it will work with the 39-301. This handle, like most Andersen handles, installs on a 3/8" diameter spline.
