Andersen operator lifespan

A home owner from USA says:
Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for putting pics of the cranks on your website. Cantilevered arm on mine made them easy to identify as the AE Anderson cranks. I just moved into a new house, and it seems all the cranks are breaking (3 since April), so I am ordering replacements, plus a few extras! The house was built in 1989, do you think I am approaching the lifespan of the cranks?

Paul from SWISCO responded:
Great, glad we were able to help! As for the lifespan of your cranks, I can't say for sure, but you can extend its life by cleaning what you can and lubricating the arm joints and gears with white grease.
