Andersen replacement is too big

These are my photos comparing my balance, EE 5 23 568, and the one you suggested, 24-531. It clearly is an 1/8 of an inch too wide for my balance cavity.

I had asked (with a picture) for a replacement part suggestion for an Andersen sash balance with part # EE 5 23 568. You suggested Swisco's 24-531 sash balance as the replacement. I ordered that part, which came today.
I am attaching photos of both yours and my original balances. Your replacement is clearly at least an 1/8 of an inch wider. Even after removing my older version's metal shim which was in the sash's upper cavity, your balance is still at least a 1/16" too wide.

I'm afraid Andersen doesn't make operators like yours, anymore. They upgraded to the tab style we carry years ago. That said, you could still install it in your window, but you would need to cut the header with a wood chisel to make room for the tab.
