I need to replace the following balancer:

J18 5#27 785 11600-3

J8 5#27 -11 84 11600-17

What will be the replacement parts?

Hi, Corrado. Any 5#27 balance can be replaced by SWISCO's 24-531 Andersen balance box.

Andersen recommended balancer 637 based on the glass measurements. It's 20 7/16 width, 21 15/16 Height, which is window 2042. What is the difference between your recommendation of 531 and 637.

The 24-531 Andersen balance for a 2042 window is for 1/8" clear or obscure monolithic glass. 24-637 is for 3/8" welded or 5/8" annealed insulated glass. The original balances you pulled out your window were #527, which is 24-531. We usually recommend sticking with the balances you remove from the window, as long as they worked fine before they broke.
