Andersen sash window part replacement

To the point: is there any way to know balance part needed other than pulling it out for id?

We LOVE our Andersen windows and built our house in 1983! They are the vinyl clad sash windows. They have done beautifully all these years and this is the first one that has broken, and we have a couple of one sides out so were thrilled to find we can get the replacements. Your you tube is great, and we are confident we can do it...older, but handy! Obviously, we can give dimensions, etc.

Are these Andersen balance boxes? Do they rest in the top of the window and hang down with strings?

If so, we can identify them, but it's really best to remove them. However, if you know the type/thickness of glass in your window and you give us the dimensions of the rectangular piece of glass that is visible, then we can figure out which balance you need.
