Andersen thumb latch

Question

I my lock is very, very difficult to lock now. Do I have to replace all 3 parts meaning the thumb latch,and the part it goes into and also the receiving part on the door..?

Not necessarily. There could be a few issues at play, but a good way to confirm is to remove the thumb latch and the mortise and play around with them a bit. Try to flip the thumb lever when it's off the door and by itself. Does it still hang up? Also try to throw the mortise with a flat head screwdriver. Do you feel resistance?

Once you figure out which part exactly is causing the issue, let me know. I'd also like to see a photo of the part in question just so we're 100% on the same page. Thanks!
