Andersen window balance identification

I want to identify a replacement Andersen balance prior to removing the original from the header. I don't want to wait for the parts to arrive while my window is disassembled. The visible glass in my double hung, non-tilt, double pane window sash is 28-1/2" wide and 22" tall. Both sashes are the same size.

thank you for any help. I forgot to mention that the window is made of wood.

Thanks for choosing SWISCO.com. To allow us to better help you, please send us a photo of the existing balance and list any numbers that might be stamped into the balance.

Hi Mike. I`d love to do this without taking the window apart. Then putting it back together. Then taking it apart again when my new balancers arrive from you.

Unfortunately, removing the balance is the only surefire way to determine which Andersen balance you need to use to replace it. We highly recommend that you do so. The Andersen balances are identified primarily by the numbers stamped on the metal exterior of the balance.

I'm afraid knowing the weight of the sash alone is not enough to make a recommendation. At this stage we don't know anything about how they're designed or what hardware they use to be compatible with your window.
The best place to start is with photos. Seeing a clear photo of your balance removed from the window and in undamaged condition would be ideal. Please let me know if that's possible.
