The issue with long retainer strips is that door manufacturers frequently change their designs, often every year. This makes it nearly impossible for us to keep up with all the variations. Instead, we recommend considering our 70-180 storm door clip, which can be installed by drilling a hole for a 33-020 screw. This method was commonly used by storm door companies in the past and remains an effective and straightforward solution.

To install the 70-180 clip, secure it to the face of the door using the 33-020 screw. The end leg of the clip has a 1/2" reach, allowing it to press against the screen or glass panel within the door, holding it securely in place. We suggest installing four or five clips on each side and possibly two at the top for added stability.
