My house had Anderson Casement Window Dual Arm Model # 7198-17 installed 33 years ago. The only dual arm that I have located is for Awnings, what is the recommended model for replacement ? The arms are 7 1/4, 3 1/4 and 12 5/8"

Abe

Good morning, Abe. Thank you for your patience.
This awning operator is discontinued and no longer available. We have been unable to locate a proper replacement part. I am sorry we are not able to provide a replacement for you. Thank you for posting. |

Looking for an operator labeled 7198-2 similar to operator 7198-17 as shown above. Are there any replacements?

Good morning! We were never able to find a replacement for the operator above, so I am not sure if we will be able to for the 7198-2. However, I am not sure how the 7298-2 is different from the 7298-17, if at all. Take a look at the picture and dimensions the customer above listed. Where are the dimensions different? Is there a difference in style? If so, could I see a few pictures so I can see exactly how? That will help us try to find a possible replacement.

I can say the item is identical to the picture above. I am sure the measurements are the same. The one I have is stamped as stated. There is nothing i can see on your website that resembles what is shown in the picture above. I cant imagine anderson not making a replacement operator for this style window. The age of the window is approx. 31 years old.

You could try substituting with our 39-206. I'm not sure if it will work, but it may be our closest match. What do you think?

I need two replacement operators for two small Andersen awning windows. The opener is 19" in length when fully closed. The short "arms" are 3+" long. The center bar (which has 2 slots to connect to the window clamps) is almost 13".
Any suggestions? I don't care how wide the window opens. Just so I can vent the room a little bit.

Thanks for posting. I've placed you into an existing thread concerning this very operator. As you can see, we were never able to find a replacement, but we think you could consider our 39-206 as a possible replacement. I can't be sure if it will work, but carefully compare it to your existing hardware and let me know what you think.

When the 39-206 is completed collapsed (closed window position) what is its width? My window is 21" wide so it would have to fit across the bottom of the window (no greater than 20ish?)

I just ran back and measured ours as you described, and it's approximately 18-3/8". Would that work?
