Anderson Sash Balance Replacement

Quick Learner from Newaygo MI
Having issues with some older Anderson windows. I reclaimed them a couple yrs ago, and have just installed in a lew locaton. It seems like the sash cords on all of them are too tight (perhaps from age) so that I have to force them downt o close all the way. Not ideal.

Thinking new sash balances may be needed?????

Not sure which balance is correct. Double hung. Each pane is 36 wide by 24 high so each window unit is 36 wide x 48 high. The balance says BP 36 1088 on the edge and Anderson Corp, Bayport MN 11600 - 17 on the back.

Hello,

Unforutnately, the BP36 1088 stamp on your assembly does not correspond to our records. When you say that each pane measures 36" X 24", are you referring to the visible glass or the complete wood sash? The visible glass dimensions would be what we need to look into this further for you.

Visible glass.

Thank you for confirming. Based on your dimensions, we believe that you'll need the 24-1033 Andersen sash balance for your repair. Take a look and thanks for posting.
