Anderson Window Casement Window Mechanism.

A quick learner from South Dakota says:
Hello,

I just moved in to a new house and need some help with my AW Casement Windows.

One of the mechanism isn't working properly. It will open the window but not close it. When I go to close it, the entire operator handle gear just screws out. Upon further inspection I noticed that the piece that is meant to keep the gear from screwing out is missing. I pictured a working mechanism with gear held in place as a reference photo.

What do I need? Can I just purchase a piece to hold the gear down? Do I need an entirely new mechanism? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Brad

Looks like the operator gears are worn out. That handle gear is not meant to come out. The whole thing will need to be replaced. See our 39-095 for a possible replacement, but just make sure the dimensions all match up.
