In order to avoid taking the window apart twice, can you recommend the proper window balancer for an Anderson double-hung window installed in 1974. The actual sash sizes are: 36" wide, 25" high (top) & 25.5" high (bottom). This is a double-pane window and does not appear to be the "narrow line"

I am afraid the only way we can recommend a proper replacement for you would to actually see some photos of your balance. There is also a number stamped on the balance that we need in order to help determine which sash balance will work for your windows. Without those important component pieces, we will not be able to provide a solid recommendation.

Unfortunately, the size of the window alone is not enough for us to make a recommendation. As my colleague Casey explained above, we need to see a clear picture of each code printed on the balance box. We can then check our inventory for a match.
