Sounds like you may need SWISCO product code 24-737, Andersen Perma-Shield Narroline double-hung window sash counter balance; used to replace balance boxes with stamped numbers 7#31.

Ah, I see. Looks like you have an older kind of balance. You may need to retrofit the new type that we sell. It would require cutting the header with a wood chisel to make room for the tab.
