It sounds like the worm gear is stripped out. That means you'll need an all new operator.

We sell a few different Andersen brand operators, but I'm not sure which one you have. I recommend looking at our complete selection here to pick out the best match for your window.

I could not find a match.
Operator has gears on both sides of screw.

I see. Is there any way we can see some photos of the operator completely out of the window? If that is not an option, we will need to see as much of the entire operator as possible, preferably from a bird's eye view. That may help.

Ah, I see. You have a very old Andersen brand awning window operator. This actually isn't made anymore and Andersen never made a new replacement for it. You're not going to be able to get an exact match.

We do carry the 39-206, which is also an Andersen operator for awning windows, but the design is a little different and I cannot guarantee if it works. I'm afraid we've never had the opportunity to physically use the 39-206 to replace your style in person, so right now it's only a hypothetical recommendation.

I'm sorry that we cannot offer a more confident solution.
