Anderson screen door stuck on one spot

A home owner from Manhattan Beach, California says:

Hello:

We have an Anderson sliding screen door PD3068 size 35 1/2" x 77 1/4". We have to remove the top tension spring because it makes the door stuck on one spot, even the spring fits well on the designate slots. I think the metal of the springs are too stiff. We like to put the tension springs back to the top to make the door works perfectly. Is there a softer tension spring available?

Thank you

Jean

Hey, Jean, thanks for posting. Did you try to lower the bottom wheels on the door? It could be that the wheels need to be lowered to put less tension on the top springs. I also recommend lubricating the track and rollers. Finally, check to see if there is something up in the top track or the lower track preventing the door from operating properly. Sometimes debris or dirt can get in there and clog up the works.
