Arcadia sliding door wool pile removal

Quick Learner from Califrnia
Old Arcadia brand sliding glass door maybe pushing 50 years old. Very sturdy aluminum framing and doors. Is there some way to get a hold of old backing and pull it out so I can snap in the new wool pilling. Please call me if you wish. I have sent 3 pisctures to your customer service.
Thank you for any help on my problem..

Good morning
Just got off phone with nice person who recommended I should send pictures.
These are pictures of a very old Arcadia sliding glass door frame.
How can I grab the old backing and pull it out to put in the new strip? The piling in totally worn flat and may be metal backing in the grooves?

I see what you mean about the old wool pile being stuck in the channel. I would first check the end of this channel to see if there is an opening at the top where you might be able to pull it out. If not, then it will be tricky. You will need to cut out the old backing and pull it out piece by piece. I know that's not the most elegant solution, but there's no other way.

As for installing new wool pile, you'd have to insert one side of the base into the slot, then firmly work in the other side of the base using a putty knife. Again, it can be time consuming, but without an opening in the channel to slide the pile in and out you won't have any other options. You can see our entire selection of wool pile here.
