Arcadia sliding glass doors

Home Owner from USA
I found a discussion on a your website in September 2015 about 1957 Arcadia sliding glass door handles and was amazed to read it.

The lock handle part of the handle of on one of my doors broke recently.

Photo 1 below is of the inside handle including the handle for the lock of the door that is NOT broken.

The other photos below are of the door that has the broken lock handle.

The last photo is of the broken lock handle. The lock handle is 1 3/4" long. The Hi,

I have two sliding glass doors made by Arcadia around 1957.circular shaft of the lock handle that goes through a hole in the inside door handle is 5/18" in diameter.

The bolts that connect the inside and outside door handles are 3 1/4" apart.

Any advice or help that you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Should you want any further information, Please let me know.

With Best Regards,

Your Arcadia door is quite old, and we have been unable to track down the handle and lock set you have. Take a look at the 82-033 handle and 82-310 key cylinder, instead, and see if you can adapt these parts to your door. I cannot be sure they will work, but I can't find anything closer. You will likely need to drill new mounting hole to install this hardware, so be careful not to damage the door or the glass.

The tail (and slot in the mortise lock) on that lever is thinner than normal. The new lever will need to be trimmed (thinned) down. A grinder works. I managed to get one to work with the original handle because they had two doors next to each other and they wanted them to match. I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you want a real project.
The mortise is also nearly extinct. I think I have two old stock.
