Atrium Window Channel Balance

A quick learner from California, USA says:
Hello, I have a 20 year old Atrium Window (original with the building) and one of the cords broke and it slid down to the bottom of the window frame. The metal part is 33" long and 1/2" wide. given the age of the window, I'd rather replace both assemblies. I have more photos if you need them. I can take a photo of the unbroken one as well.

Hello! Your balance looks like it could be a match for our S395-33. This has a 19-005 top and 15-001 bottom nylon fitting, so as long as those parts match up then you should be good to go.

And the 32 3 FA2 markings on the old one are equivalent to the 3230 option? the sash weights 23.4 lbs.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

The old "32 3" stamp is the same as our modern 3230, though your sash weight spills a little over 23 pounds. The 3240 carries 23 though 28 pounds.

It's ultimately up to you. If your old balances worked fine for all these years then I see no reason to change the option. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, if you think the old balances were always a little on the weak side then using the 3240 option may be worth considering.
