Awing Window Does Not Close Completely

Question

After locating online correct awning window operator and installing it (39-069), the window still does not completely close.
Cleaned out debris, etc. Now, I'm wondering if the hinges are the problem. House built in 1960. Thanks!

The hinges very well may be the issue, yes. Try this: remove the operator completely from the window and try to operate it manually. If it opens and closes normally, than the 39-069 is the problem. If it still binds, then there is something else. Check to make sure the hinges aren't damaged or corroded and that nothing is obstructing the track.
