BF Rich balances

Quick Learner from Philadelphia, PA
My brick home has all BFRich Cabernet style vinyl double hung windows with 7/8" thick Low E argon insulated glass.
While tilting one sash for cleaning, the coil balance spring released from the rotating side latch, leaving the window with no balance support.

1. Can this be reconnected or spring/balance replaced by removing the sash(s) vs. the entire window frame?
2. Have you any info, videos that show how this can be done?

I am going nuts trying to find any widow service that can help me without a total replacement.
This window is part of a matched trio in my living room & to fix it would permit me to maintain the design match, avoiding a mismatch with potential problems.
I am ma retired design engineer with experience from my dad's decades in custom built luxury homes.
Thanks, Dom

Thanks for reaching out! If the coil spring and pivot shoe are still in tact, you should be able to reattach them but you will need to remove them from the window to put them back together. Removing them will also allow you to examine to the determine if they can be removed.

Take a look at the two videos below for an idea of how you can remove these balances from your window.
