Balance Channel Replacement Help
After looking at your online help material, it seems I may need a custom order given a pulley is located in the bottom guide of my channels. Can you help me identify the correct replacements needed? Some measurements:
Window: 21.5in width, 17.75in length, 7.6lbs weight
Balance Channel: 14 2 (B.S.I) PC stamp, 14.625in length (without guides), 0.625in width, 1.0625in depth (bottom guide).
Hi there!
You're correct, this balance will indeed have to be a custom order. You have an extended travel channel balance which is a special type of balance that can't be replaced by any of our stock options. As you probably noticed, the pulley wheel is actually built into the bottom shoe, rather than the metal channel itself. In addition to that, the cord has an extended travel and even the metal channel itself differs from any stock option we carry. Rather than being measured on a full inch, your metal channel is 14-5/8" long. We can help but we'll need to see a clear and up close picture of the metal clip at the end of your cord. I can't quite make out its full shape. Can you also tell me how many balances you will need? Our minimum for custom orders is 2.
Your 14 2 stamp can support a sash weighing 6 to 9 pounds so this calibration should be perfect for your window. It's possible your balances are just too old but if you have any doubts you can always triple check the sash weight to be sure.
The stamp on your balance definitely seems to be calibrated appropriately for your sash. They may just be old and need to be replaced. With that said, I'm going to email you a purchase link and price quote for 2 balances that you can use to place an order on our website. If you have any questions just let me know!
We appreciate your business. Good luck with the repair and let us know if you need anything else!
