Balance Channel and t-lock balance shoe

A home owner from Medina Ohio says:
I broke the little metal hook at the top of the balance channel trying to get it hooked back in. Trying to order a replacement. The letter/number combo stamped on my Ply-Gem builder grade single hung window is C28. Does this mean I select C for a 28" channel? I just want to be certain I order the correct one. Thank you.

Paul from SWISCO responded:

That could possibly work, but to be 100% safe and certain, it would be best to remove your sash and weigh it on a scale. From there, you can go to the sash weight chart on the product page to confirm the correct spring option.
