Balance Coil weight

Question

I am purchasing a balance coil to replace my old one.  The options I have come in halfs, so I can pick 9.5 or 10.5.  My current only only says 10.  Which should I get?  .5 less or more?

Thanks for reaching out to us. If the sash weighs 20 pounds then I would recommend one 10.5 pounds spring on each side of the window. This will total 21 pounds of overall support which should be fine so long as the spring weights are within a pound of the sash weight.
