Balance Replacement

Quick Learner from Glen Allen, VA
I currently have MW vinyl windows with crossbow balances that are falling apart. I would like to replace them with something (ideally more robust) and from what I've read your channel balances may be an option. Information I've collected:
- window weights 15.6 lbs
- old crossbow balances are ~28.5" end to end
- the window channel the balances are in are ~1.5" wide
- the balance pins embedded in the windows are round and the screw holes attaching them to the window about 1.5" center to center and the pins themselves are round.

Additionally the seals on the bottom are bad but I believe the replacement would be the 58.183 .187 T-Slot, offset hollow, foam seal.

I have pictures off all components if thats helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Thanks for reaching out! Your balance channel appears to be part of a discontinued style balance that is no longer available. The good new is, we may be able to provide you with a suitable replacement.

To determine if there is an replacement we can provide, I'll need to see a photo of an undamaged balance removed from the window. I am specifically looking to see a photo of any attachments that may be on the balance or that could be connected to the bottom of the sash.

I'll need to know the length of the undamaged balance, the diameter of the spring channel, and I'll need to know the exact weight of the sash the balances are supporting.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I will have to find and remove an undamaged example. Will upload pictures when I do.

Not sure what you mean by spring channel - the channel that the balance is mounted in is 1.5" wide as indicated in the original message. Is there something else you are talking about?

The weight of the sash was in the original message 15.6 lbs

Thanks

Okay, great! Please send the photos when you are able. In reference to the spring, there is a spring at the bottom of the balance. I'll need to know the diameter of that spring in addition to the other requested information; excluding the sash weight. Thanks for confirm.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
