Balance Shoe

Quick Learner

I am trying to purchase one or two coil balance shoes for my windows. I've taken as many pictures as I can, attached. Would you let me know which one to purchase?

I do not see a way to remove these shoes my windows except prying them out with a screwdriver. Is there something I'm missing? I don't see a place where they can come off the track.

Thanks

Hello! The best way to determine what kind of pivot shoe you have is to compare dimensions and design to those options available in our catalog. I have a few ideas on what this could be, but dimensions will be necessary; specifically the width and thickness. Of course, the only way to measure these is to remove them first.

Most windows are designed with a cutout at the top of the track that allows you to pop the pivot shoe out. The channel balance would first have to be removed, then you slide the pivot shoe up and remove it at the cutout.

However, many windows aren't made with a cutout. If that's your situation then you have to make one. The video below will describe how this can be done.
