Balance coils need 2 sets
Unfortunately, we really need to see the parts removed from the channel in order to make replacement recommendations. Take a look at the video I have included to see if that can help you remove the parts sooner.

It looks like your coil spring is the only thing broken. It will be our Series 160 coil balance, you will need the spring weight stamped on the end of the spring to identify the correct replacement option.
If you need to replace the pivot shoe look at our 15-228, it is 1-1/4" wide by 17/32" thick.
The single support nylon cover is #15-150S.

It sounds like the springs are too strong
You ordered four 7 pound springs, probably two on each side, this means you have 28 pounds of support. It's possible your sash is way under this range.
You should remove the bottom sash and physically weigh it to confirm what you ordered is correct.
