Old Single Hung aluminum balance. They tilt inward like a door, from the side. Existing one is like a block and tackle. Number "s 2540" is written on the balance. It's 26" long, and balance has a plastic piece that connects to sash built in.
The top mounting piece is snapped on all units/missing which is attached to the window frame

This is a very old style balance. The good news is that we can supply a replacement, but only as a custom order. i also need some extra information from you before we can get the ball rolling.
First, these balances are notable for having "asymmetric" design. What I mean by that is that the right side balance assembly is a little different compared to the left side. They should each have a different stamp and a different configuration of plastic fittings.
Can you please check that for me? One stamp should have both a top and bottom fitting, and the other stamp should have only the top fitting and NO bottom fitting. I'd also like you to tell me which stamp is which.
Lastly, please tell me how many of each side you need.

These windows only had balances on the right side (inside view) which is the latch side. No balances were found on the left (hinge side).
White shoe (bottom) had no markings, and supported the sash like a platform

If one of your balances are missing then that's going to complicate this project by quite a bit. Custom balances are non-refundable, so we like to make sure that all information is verified before we pull the trigger.
Do you have an identical window in the house that might still have all its hardware? If so, we can use that as a reference.
If not, then the opposite side balance MIGHT have a 2530 stamp and no bottom fitting, but there are a ton of other configuration possibilities. I can't really be sure without seeing it, so anything I recommend without a reference is going to be a guess.
