Balance identification

A home owner from Colorado Springs says:
I ordered 2-s350-30 window channels for my non-tilt metal window. It does not fit(too long). I had no room to install the clips. I have no channels in my windows (the previous owner took them all out). Is there any other way to determine the correct size/weight without the old channels? The width was fine. Also I have 2 square holes one on top and one on the top where the lower window goes. Does that mean I need 4 channels to open both windows? I had trouble installing the hook at an angle in the one I tried to install - was that because it was too long? This is a condo built in the 1980's. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It'll be tricky, but there is a way. Tell me the height of the visible glass for the sash this balance is supporting. Please also tell me the weight of the sash.

I'm not sure about whether you need two balances or four. Without the originals, it would be hard to say. If you show us a couple pictures of the jamb we can try our best to determine what you would need.
