Balance replacement

There are no brand markings on the windows or parts. The balance measures 29.5 inches from tip to tip. I need to order the proper type. There are no cords in the existing balances. I need to order the white plastic boots they connect to on the bottom as well since mine are brittle. Thanks for your assistance

Hey there!

Thanks for reaching out to us. This looks to be a tilt window spiral balance. Depending on the diameter of the outer tube, you could have the 5/8" Series 600 or 3/8" Series 900. If your tip color doesn't match any of our options, you'll have to weigh the window sash on a scale.

As for the pivot shoe, can you remove it from the window track and show us a few photos? We'd also like you to write out the thickness and width.

The window weighs 18 lbs
The pivot shoe is 1"x 2x and 1/2" thick

Your window parts were made by Unique Balance Company which is no longer in business. You might be able to use the 15-167 pivot shoe, but we need to see the pivot bar that fits into it. Can you show us a photo of yours removed from the window sash?

To determine which balance you need, can you confirm the diameter and length of the white balance tube?
