Thanks for reaching out to us. This balance assembly is a little different from the parts we sell, but I'd be happy to look into it for you. before we move forward, can you tell me the width and thickness of the pivot shoe? Can you also tell me what number is printed on the coil spring?

The shoe is a half inch thick and one and a quarter inches wide. Both springs broke on the ends and I can't find the piece with the number on it. But the window weighs 8 pounds so I assume I would need two 4 pounders

Hey there, maybe I can help. I think of all the parts in our inventory, our S161-04 might be your best option. This is a four pound assembly, so two of them together carry 7 through 8.99 pounds.

The only thing I'm wary about is whether your old pivot bar will be compatible. Figure that the S161-04 is designed to work with our 26-405, so if yours is the same then it should work well. If not, you can show me and I can judge whether you need to swap it out or not.

Overall length is 2 and 3/4 in and it is 2 and 1/8 in to the screw hole

Thanks for your patience. After a bit of experimenting, we have confirmed that your old pivot bar should be fully compatible with our S161-04 balance assembly.

Okay thank you which mounting bracket would I need for that spring? My track is an inch and a quarter wide

The Series 161 is most commonly used with the 16-031 mounting bracket, but this isn't exclusive. You should check the original before you buy anything just to make sure that they're the same.
