Balance springs

I have American craftsman silver line model, 1200 windows and it looks like the balance spring has broken. Can you help me identify this for the replacement part and how to get it out? Thank you for your help.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Our 15-087 pivot shoe looks to be a match. This part is designed to be used with the Series 180. We also have a video tutorial that will show you how to remove your hardware with the cut-out method.

The coil spring is what appears to be broken. What is the part for the spring or do they come with the pivot shoes?

The Series 180 coil springs are sold separately. It looks like your pivot shoe is stamped with the number 8 which means you'd want the S180-8.
